The Central Executive Board of Partai Solidaritas Indonesia had announced the interview results of first batch recruitment for 2019 Legislative Candidates Election.
PSI Chairman, Grace Natalie stated that there are three result categories: granted, granted with proviso, and unsuccessful.
Out of 146 participants who participate in the session, PSI determined 57 candidates are granted, 58 are granted with proviso, while the other 31 are considered unsuccessful.
“Should the minimum grade reached 3.75, then it is a grant. Should it is nearly to 3.75, then it is a grant with proviso…” as Grace Statement in the press conference at DPP PSI Basecamp on Sunday (16/12/2017).
There were total 1,155 Participants of the first batch. “Out of the whole Applicants, 94% are male, 6% female,” as stated by Sumardy, the Chairman of PSI Election Campaign Board/Badan Pemenangan Pemilu (Bapilu) on the same occasion.
The interesting fact is; 60% of Applicants are belongs to Millennium generation (under 35 years), while the other 34% represents the X Generation (35-50 years).
Participants who considered as granted should follow the socialization evaluation phase that will be held in January-February 2018. In this phase, they should step in down to the area, identify problems, find solutions, and then compile a report.
For those who considered as granted with proviso are required to attend certain online classes. While those who considered as unsuccessful are welcome to participate again at the next batch.
Candidates of granted and granted with proviso categories will be invited to attend a press conference in order to receive a Grant Recognition Letter by DPP PSI. Giring “Nidji” Ganesha is one of the board members.
Mari Elka Pangestu, one of Independent Judges stated that she was very pleased to follow the transparent recruitment process. “It turns out that disruption is everywhere, also within this candidate recruitment. I am very excited”, said this former Minister of Commerce.
We can say that the recruitment process of PSI candidates represents the Indonesia as a whole for the diversity demography of Applicants. “Now it is the time to finish remaining homework. It is how to identify the problems in each domain and how to communicate with the grass-root level”, said Mari in the press conference.
Neng Dara Affiah, another Independent Judge; encourage granted Candidates to learn from notable figures as Soekarno, Moh. Hatta, Sutan Sjahrir, or Abraham Lincoln.
“Possess the essence and their passion as our provision to dive into the sea of improvement for the future of Indonesia,” said the former Commissioner of Female National Commission while pointing to figure portraits on the wall.
The second batch will be opened soon. In addition to Judges that already present in the first batch, there will be additional Judges; Todung Mulya Lubis – a senior advocate, Azyumardi Azra – the former Rector of UIN Jakarta, Muhammad Chatib Basri – the former Minister of Finance, Clara Juwono – an International Relations Specialist, Natalia Soebagjo – a female notable figure, Bivitri Susanti – an expert in Law practices, and Goenawan Mohamad – a notable Author.
Mari Elka Pangestu stated, “In this second batch, I wish there will be more females who sign up. It is still very less. Hopefully at least a third of the Candidates are females.”
